Welcome to Los Altos Chinese School at LASD
Los Altos Chinese School is excited to continue our partnership with the Los Altos School District to offer an on-site Chinese/Mandarin immersion after school program at all seven of the elementary schools in LASD.
The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn and practice the Chinese language in a fun and interactive environment. Our experienced teachers will guide students through a variety of activities, including conversation practice, reading and writing exercises, and cultural studies. The goal of our program is to help students develop a strong foundation in Chinese language and culture, and to foster a love for learning and exploring new cultures.
The program takes place directly after school at each of the seven elementary schools, and students from all grades are welcome to participate. Los Altos School District students will be given priority and will be able to attend the After School program at their home school, without the need for any transportation.
If you're interested in enrolling your child, please contact us at lasd@losaltoschinese.school for more information or visit our website to register. We can't wait to have you join us on this exciting journey of language learning!

About Us
Our Mission
To deliver the highest quality Chinese immersion after school program in Silicon Valley.
The Los Altos Chinese School was founded in 2014 by a group of experienced teachers with a common goal: to promote children’s successful Chinese learning results through passion and love, enhancing their positive attitude and confidence towards life.
Our Logo
Our logo (located in the upper right corner of our website) consists of two major components: the yellow “乐” and the brown “山” that represent our Chinese name, and the green capital letters that represent the abbreviation of our English name. “乐” means happy in Chinese, and the “乐” with an uplifting yellow color symbolizes a child who is learning and growing happily. “山” means mountain in Chinese, and the brown “山” symbolizes that the child is advancing to a higher level on the Chinese language mountain, based on a solid foundation. The LACS (abbreviation of Los Altos Chinese School) in bright green leaves color symbolizes that the child will develop healthily.
Our Students
Our students range from kindergarten to 6th grade.
Advantageous Location
LOCATED AT YOUR LOCAL LOS ALTOS SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL
Los Altos Chinese School was formerly located at the Los Altos Hillview Community Center. In 2019, our school changed its model to locate on the campus of each elementary school in the Los Altos School District. This provides convenience and safety, as students at each school go directly from their primary classroom to their LACS classroom without the need for any transportation. Our program begins at the end of the school day, even if it is a short day.
Program at a Glance
Our Mandarin Chinese immersion program runs from the end of the school day to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Our teachers strive to provide a pleasant environment where students can learn Chinese language and culture, and build their vocabulary and language skills in a fun environment.
